By installing or using the EggYolk app (“the App”) or visiting eggyolk.co, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

1. The service

EggYolk is a mobile application that scans food product barcodes and returns stage-aware safety verdicts generated from publicly available product data and published safety guidelines.

2. Not medical advice

EggYolk is an informational tool, not a medical device or a substitute for professional advice. Verdicts are general guidance based on publicly available data — they may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. Always consult your doctor, midwife, health visitor, paediatrician, or a qualified dietitianfor decisions affecting your or your child's health, especially if allergies or medical conditions are involved.

We disclaim all liability for any decision made solely on the basis of an EggYolk verdict.

3. Data accuracy

Product data is sourced from Open Food Facts and similar community databases. It can be incomplete, out-of-date, or inaccurate. Always double-check the actual product packaging before feeding anything to a child.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the stage, allergy, and profile info you enter.
• You must be 18 or older to create an account.
• Don't share your account or let others use it on your behalf.

5. Acceptable use

Don't:

• Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attempt to extract our database wholesale
• Resell EggYolk or its verdicts as a commercial product without written permission
• Submit false or misleading product reports
• Use the App to harass, defame, or make unfounded health claims against brands

6. Subscriptions (when introduced)

If you subscribe to a paid plan: billing is handled by Apple or Google via their App Store systems. You can cancel anytime in your device settings. Refunds follow the respective platform's policies.

7. Brand relationships

EggYolk is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by any brand shown in the App. Verdicts are independent and not influenced by any commercial relationship.

8. Intellectual property

The App, its design, and content are owned by EggYolk. Product names, logos, and packaging shown belong to their respective owners. EggYolk is a trademark of the operating entity.

9. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, EggYolk is provided “as is” without warranties. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for things the law doesn't allow us to exclude.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be posted here and flagged in the App. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales unless otherwise required by local consumer protection law where you live.
